The Lake Havasu Decorative Artists, organized in December 2000, is an affiliated chapter of The National Society of Decorative Painters founded in 1972 by Priscilla Houser. The organization strives to stimulate interest in and appreciation for decorative painting. This diverse art form utilizes a variety of techniques and media to decorate functional and nonfunctional surfaces.

Decorative painting offers opportunities for artistic self-expression and creative satisfaction. Members learn from each other and from certified and national teachers affiliated with the Society of Decorative Painters. Meetings take place at MCC on the second Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon. They are followed by a potluck salad lunch, and more painting time if desired. Meetings are informal and fun, and new members are always welcome.
