The Lake Havasu Film Festival is a non-profit organization and the only resource in Mohave County, that is dedicated to the independent film community.
Founded in 2002, the Lake Havasu Film Festival's mission is to build and support a strong media arts community in Lake Havasu City and Arizona by promoting the production, exhibition and public awareness of film and video as unique forms or artistic expression.
The Lake Havasu Film Festival is recognized throughout the Southwest for its success in promoting independent media artists that would not have access to funding, equipment or audience for their work. Profits from the 2003 Film Festival provided $2000.00 in scholarships to the Mohave Community College Foundation for the benefit of local students.
The 2004 Film Festival included a Student Division with film submissions from Lake Havasu High School, Desert technologies High School, Telesis Preparatory Academy, and the Lake Havasu Charter School. The profits from the 2004 Festival were used to purchase 2 cameras and editing equipment for each camera for the Lake Havasu High School Media Class.
Profits from the 2005 Film Festival went to the Mohave Community College Foundation for the film class.
